Laura is a Registered Social Worker with specialized training in working with adults who are navigating the effects of trauma, stress, and overwhelming life experiences. She has a particular interest in supporting first responders and frontline healthcare workers—individuals who regularly encounter high-pressure situations that can significantly impact their well-being. Throughout most of her career, Laura has had the privilege of working alongside these professionals, gaining valuable insight into the unique challenges they face both on and off the job. This experience has deeply informed her understanding of the stress and trauma inherent in these roles.
Laura understands that feeling constantly on edge, emotionally shut down, or burdened by more than one can manage is an all-too-common experience—and that no one has to face it alone. Therapy can be a powerful tool to help individuals find balance and regain a sense of control in their lives.
In therapy, Laura focuses on creating a calm, supportive environment where progress happens at a pace that feels manageable. Her approach ensures that clients are not overwhelmed by painful memories as they work toward healing. Laura integrates evidence-based methods such as EMDR, the FLASH Technique, DBT, CBT, and mindfulness practices to help clients process traumatic experiences, develop regulation skills, and foster a greater sense of control. Together with her clients, Laura uses practical tools and personalized strategies to support each individual’s unique healing journey.
